Fisher Blades was founded by Chas and John Fisher - brothers who bring an eclectic mix of experiences and disciplines to bear.

Chas was born in the swamp and raised in the mountains. He is a long-time hunter, climber and outdoorsman. He has trained for over 25 years in Wing Chun kung-fu, and currently teaches Wing Chun in Seattle and Missoula, Montana. He also is part of the InSights Training Center instruction staff, coaching pistol, rifle, unarmed and blade defensive courses in the Puget Sound area. He has spent his career in the outdoor and knife industries.

John was born in the mountains and raised in the swamp. An outdoorsman, cabinet maker, sailor, motorcycle adventurer, John apprenticed knife-making with the legendary Andy Roy of Fiddleback Forge.

Fisher Blades hews closely to these three principles:

PURPOSE-FIRST DESIGN – All our knife designs begin with a very well-considered statement of the intended purpose of the knife. All functional design elements then must serve this purpose. No functional elements are modified to make them “look cool.”

BATCH-RUN QUALITY - Fisher Blades produces batch-runs which allows us to concentrate on the quality of these runs to an extreme degree – something simply not possible with conventional large-scale knife making. Every single knife we produce is touched extensively by our own hands before it gets shipped out. Our knife models are made in two kinds of batches: Prime and Rerun Editions, which means we’ll repeat that same model (same steel, blade finish and scales) over time, and Unicorn Editions, which are unique, one-time combinations of steel, blade finish and scales. All knives are etched with batch number, number produced and blade number within the batch.

MADE IN USA – We are resolute in producing USA-made knives. We expressly do NOT make parts in China, nor source materials/components from China. Nothing against the Chinese– we just don’t want to support an authoritarian regime that suppresses their peoples’ natural rights and uses slave labor to make cheap shit for us to buy at Walmart. All Fisher Blades knife and sheath materials are USA sourced with some of our raw blade steel coming from Germany. The entire production process is in the USA, including fasteners, scale production, sheath production, etc. Final knife build is 100% in our Missoula, Montana shop.
